Starting New COVID-19 Blog
Today is the last day of nearly normal before the area "shuts down" to try to curb the growth of COVID-19. Starting tomorrow, we're on voluntary lock-down, leveraging "social distancing" and "self-quarantine" to protect our families and communities from the spread of this new virus.
The two main impetus of this are the school closings imposed by our state, and the support of our companies, largely following the same guidelines, to work from home if able. We're able to work from home. A little, it's a winning compromise. A little more, it's a scary proposition. Not because of the virus, but because we're embarking on a two-week, state-wide experiment, modeled after countries with some limited success in curbing the spread, on a timeline that should end by July or August.
I'm going to try to capture our adventure, for my review, and hopefully your interest. Hopefully it ends up being interesting, helpful, and with a happy ending.
I anticipate the writings will be collections of news, observations, and opinions. I hope to lay out some plans, and recollect some success. Here's to the start of a very probable trying time.
