Day Forty-Nine - Cinco de Mayo
I realized I should be putting the dates in the posts.
At least I'm putting little summaries, which I didn't do when I blogged about our daughter's adoption.
Yeah, they have dates associated with them, but as the UTC error showed, not all of them are on the right day. Also, I've forgotten to do some on time, and cheated by setting the day. And in a couple cases, I've saved them but forgotten to publish them, which can change the date, too. I've gone back and corrected many, so hopefully it all makes sense.
We don't really celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but they make a little bit of a deal of it at the daughter's Spanish immersion school. I think a lot of people think Mexico when they think Spanish. Sure, it's important to remember Mexico defeating the French, but the French did come back to defeat them a year later. The Mexicans eventually expelled the French, but not on this day. This day, according to the couple of recaps I've recently read, served as a morale booster, and empowered the Mexican people to rally and continue fighting in the French attempt to conquer Mexico.
At work I was besieged with some tech difficulties, but also overcame, mostly.
At home, other than trying to get the one kiddo back into school, while also keeping the other engaged in something, while the wife was out running errands, it was all pretty normal.
The wife returned with delicious burgers and shakes for lunch after her grocery reconnaissance and collection.
During a break, I took the kids for a bike ride, sadly without the dogs, again to the park. Here the tennis courts were available, so they wished for dogs, but there wasn't time.
Everyone's healthy.
