Day 272 - Visitors
We took some visitors today, outside and far apart.
The older daughter and her daughters came by for a visit. They live a few hours away, so we don't see them often anyway, but they needed a getaway for the weekend, and thought to include a stop by to see the grandparents. They stayed in a hotel downtown overnight, and then stopped by to hang with us on our deck before driving back home.
The kids ran around the yard and in the alley, while we shivered on the deck chairs watching the snow start. Catching up is always fun, but usually without masks.
We all grumbled about the virus and the weather and all of the crazy things going on. We talked about our boring office jobs a little. She talked about nursing in an elder-care facility. The virus came up in all of it.
We talked about school. They're in a different "zone" than we are, so they go to school and day care. We're near virus hot spots, especially by comparison with the bigger population in the city, so all of our schools are distance-only.
Everyone's hands turned red and legs started shivering, and the kids started hiding in cars or houses to escape the cold. We parted with well-wishes and hopes of getting together soon.
Everyone's health.
