Day 324 - Tooth Hurty
Some time ago, the big little had a sore tooth and a bit of a fever. The dentist discounted it as discomfort due to an early replacement. They were wrong.
Over the weekend, a painful and concerning bump had appeared over the tender area. An appointment was made, and kiddo returned to the dentist this afternoon.
It seems that early discomfort and fever, and probably the fever-less discomfort since, was an infection between her baby molar and adult molar. The abscess was relieved, and the baby tooth removed.
A giant molar! I’m sure it’s the right size, but compared to the broken Tic Tac teeth she’d previously lost (the teeth weren’t broken; they were the size of broken Tic Tac candy), this was enormous. I joked it looked like it came from my mouth.
She was much relieved. The pain in her mouth was “different,” she said. Probably not the same pressure, but now because of the extraction.
She wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy imploring for both tooth reward and to be allowed to keep the tooth, to show it off to friends.
Everyone’s healthy.
