Day 912: Re-boosted
My COVID vaccine card has six entries on it. It was built with room for five and a reminder.
The stickers they use overlap the areas provided, so the front four spaces are covered by three vaccine lot numbers and dates. Two are for the first halves of the original vaccine, and the other two marked as "other." While there are four spots, only three stickers fit. The back has that spot to remind you to to return for your second, which I did do. And there's a fourth spot for a third "other" vaccine. With the reminder date in its spot, the other two stickers take the "other" spot and are on the instruction text on the back.
I don't think anyone thought this completely through, as the card is also starting to fold and fade and get wrinkly with its limited times to and from the house, where it sits on a shelf waiting for the next use. I've got photos of it on my phone to try to provide vaccination proof. That used to be asked for. Now no one cares.
The wife got her booster, too. She showed up early for the appointment, while I arrived a few minutes late. They called us in as soon as I sat down in the waiting area.
We opted for the flu shot in the other arm at the same time.
Kids don't get boosters yet. Just us over 50 folk.
Everyone's healthy.
