Day Seventy-Seven - Thunderstorm Tuesday
Today’s work and home were pretty normal. The riots seem over.
The little little started the day as usual, teasing the dog at 6AM. She chews things, so we still crate her overnight. He likes to tease her like he’s going to open her door, but then doesn’t. She groans and whines and yips until one of us gets up to help her.
After the dogs were let out and fed, I decided doughnuts would be the right way to start a day two hours before my first meeting. It got the kids dressed quickly, and we left mom to sleep in a bit.
I settled into the office for a day filled with meetings. The wife took the kids to collect some city compost. The kids hung out in what’s either the best or worst idea, the big inflatable pool.
As we settled in for a take-out dinner, thunderstorms rumbled in. We had chats about how we’re pretty safe indoors, and that you really just need to get out of the clear when the lightning is near. After dinner, we sat on the porch a bit and watched the torrents pour down. The kids thought it was awesome to frolic in the rain, but did rush to the porch when the sky strobed (really, too late...) and cowered when the loud cracks and claps exploded around us.
After such a busy day, they fell asleep really quickly.
Everyone is healthy.
