Day 478 - Visiting Friends
For the first time since the pandemic, we visited some friends at their new home.
Also the first time we visited since they moved. As a result, we got to see all of the "after" and very little of the "before" as they did a lot of rework to replace some of the dated design in their older (as in built earlier) new (as in they just moved there) home.
We've been to visit a couple other families in our extended bubble, but this was the first time seeing these peeps. We missed 'em all.
Their girls are just a little older than our two, and until the pandemic, we've gathered pretty frequently. We have a few differences in our parenting styles, as evidenced by how polite and responsive their kids are, compared to the indifferent and spontaneous ours are. They play well together, and really enjoyed the large, wooded yard, and sports court. The kids played a form of hide-and-seek, but almost always hid in the same spots, like maybe someone thought everyone else would think "they wouldn't go to the same place, right?" The sports court hosted quasi basketball, some ball throwing, and a little skateboarding. The adults took tours of the house, and then either tended the grill or set out the rest of the afternoon feast, and then sat about chatting and catching up.
A great day, and it seemed a good time was had by all.
Everyone's healthy.
