Day 568 - Just Another Tuesday
Nothing special about today, just trying to keep this blogging thing fresher and avoid big gaps.
We all tested negative for COVID in our regular weekly tests. As long as they're easy, free, and reliable, and there's caution or suggestion to do so, we'll keep getting tested. The kids have gotten used to it, and we call it "nose tickling" instead of testing. They know the purpose is to test the swabs for COVID, after collecting stuff from our noses with the swabs, but "testing" sounds much more horrible than "tickling." They're still not fans, but since we try to squeeze it between breakfast and swim lessons, it's an easy thing.
Having the school intern has turned into a normal thing. She's fantastic with the kids, helps too much around the house, and blurs the line between guest and resident. She's used to doing so much more than we need to do around here, but is just as wiped out with the things we do by the end of the day that I think she appreciates the conveniences now.
The weather is starting to turn. Still comfortable, in the 50-60F range over night, and in the 60-70F range during the day. It's dark when the kids leave in the morning, and before dinner time. The leaves are turning, and starting to fall in the yard.
I need to finish my summer project of mounting lattice under the deck. We got it all so early in the spring, and leaned it against the deck, which does do the job of keeping the dogs from running underneath it, but it isn't pretty. I need to do something with it before snow falls, and probably should just take some time each night to cut a little off one or few until it's done, or too dark.
I also need to take the motorcycle out for a quick fuel. I should burn some through the carbs, fill the tank, put some winter stabilizer in there, and then try to ride home for the last blocks with the fuel cut off to drain the carbs. I don't think there were three decent rides this summer. Not a lot of places to go, or people to go with. One riding buddy, who I always like riding with, but coordinating schedules can be tough.
Nothing more jumps out to write about. Nothing as interesting as these things anyway... I've watched some movies, that I'll post about separately. I also rebuilt my main desktop computer, which I'll also write about separately.
Everyone is healthy.
