The kids were excited to hear that today is the last school day of the year. That excitement waned just a little as we explained how school years don't match exactly calendar years.

It took just a little explaining that the calendar is turning over in a couple weeks, during which there won't be any school work, in person or remote.

With this, we will embark on a 16-day "fun day" break from school. On many of the workdays (mom and dad still have office obligations), the kids will go to the school (building) for day-long programs of fun and play. A couple events are planned, maybe including a visit to grandma's house for the first time since we went in pre-pandemic 2020.
