Day 647 - First of Four Days of Christmas
The kids "fun day" programs have a break for the holidays, too. Now they're home for the long weekend. And it's going OK.
The tough part is that mom's not here. She left early this morning to drive her dad around has he's got some doctor stuff to do, which will keep her overnight, so she might not be back until dinner time tomorrow. It could be later if things go awry. Thankfully, through the whole summer of this, not much has gone awry. Thinking it's a good trend, and not that we're due.
For the kids, I'm hoping to peel them away from their tablets long enough to maybe make a last minute shopping run. There are a few grocery things we should have to last the weekend, and maybe a bauble or two for mom at Christmas time.
We're still on hold for a final decision on visiting grandma on Christmas day. Usually we'd go for Christmas Eve day, but with the grandpa things going on, we're pushing off. Both that adjustment, and all of the omicron variant pandemic concerns, there's thought that a high-energy day with the grand kids, and whatever we might bring with it might be too much. In any sense of "too much." COVID, colds, noise...
The kids are plugged into their tablets. I'm going to step out for a quick lunch with a pal. When I return, we'll see about that quick run.
Everyone's healthy.
