Day 657 - Back to Work
The weekend was long, cold, and felt a little stuck at home with the kids and weather at odds, and the new swelling of pandemic infections to avoid.
The low-key New Year's celebration and days filled with entertaining kids turned out to be exhausting. I didn't realize how exhausting until I sat through some "welcome back" meetings for work, and started to feel completely wiped out.
The first meetings were refreshing. Talking with adults, about seemingly important things. A little catch-up and sharing about what went on with the weekend, and some looking ahead to the week. After the third separate group had the same conversation, I realized I was feeling done for the day. And I realized I have about six hours to go.
It's nice to not have kids asking for something every few minutes, be it a snack, to remind them it's -10°F or worse with windchill, to spell something on a tablet, or for a snack (yes, that frequently). And it's nice to see everyone and hear about their weekends. It's still a lot of energy to sit in meetings for hours on end.
Back to work...
Everyone's healthy.
