Kiddo woke up really early, really sweaty, and with a 100.4°F fever. He's definitely not going to school, and I'm not going to the office.

He started after school yesterday, and tucked in early. We got up around 5AM, and took his temperature. And then he got another dose of ibuprofen to keep his fever down.

I tapped out a quick note to the office in Slack, and then copied it to e-mail (including the part where I said I was going to copy it to e-mail...heh), and turned back to taking care of the kiddo.

I have about a dozen conversations today about people's annual reviews, performance and merit increases.I had been planning all week to go to the office to do as many in person as possible. I'm sure there are some who planned to go to the office for the same reason, and some of them who might not have made the plan without my plan. Even with the office trip, more than half of the people wouldn't be in person. Plenty of people are enjoying the remote work, and some aren't even living here, so they won't be in the office anyway.

Fingers are crossed that kiddo gives me enough tine to do everyone justice. I think it'll be OK. I'll set him up with some television and snacks, and I can check on him between each chat, which should be like very fifteen to thirty minutes, give or take.

Except the fever, everyone's healthy.
