Day 727 - Baseball Resumes
The season hasn't started yet, but agreements have been made, and baseball is scheduled once again!
It's starting a little later than before, but only by a week. Trades have resumed, a small adjustment to the schedule, and a few rule changes came out of it. Oh, and their league minimum players got a raise, and some concessions on trades and bonuses. The bulk of the rule changes are reverting pandemic changes, removing "game 163," and taking pitchers out of batting rotations in the National League.
This means I need to kick some gear into getting my ticket website ready. We share seats with some partners, and I made some pages to allow everyone to pick things. We also used to use it to sell "extra" games to our friends, but we haven't done that for a while now. Before the pandemic, we didn't have any "extra" games with the number of seat partners we had, and with the pandemic, there weren't as many games or as much interest in them.
Still...hobby projects. This one is overdue for an overhaul. It's an OLD JSP MVP site. It needs a little better content management, and could do with some SPA/REST modernization. Since "it works," and there are only a handful of users, it's never taken enough priority in my hobby project rotations. Maybe, if I get some time this week.
Outside it's tremendously warm, relative to the recent weather. It's been in the single-digits a lot for the last week. Seems like longer, but I just power through. Today it poked over 40°F! Springtime 40s usually bring t-shirts and shorts, but I didn't go outside beyond the deck when letting the dogs out.
Despite the great weather, and the late (to me) news about baseball, I felt a little crummy all day. No fever or other symptoms, but just rundown like something's coming. I have been hoping to avoid having whatever knocked the kiddo down, and still hope it's not that. Given the bright, warm day, this doesn't seem like winter doldrums, but feels more onset of something. Fingers crossed.
Everyone's healthy.
