Day 753 - Baseball Opener
It was cold, and because of the late start, we had to leave early to get the kids. We did make it to the ballgame!
Most people weren't wearing masks, and I didn't for the entire game game. It did come in handy to defend against some of the cold winds that were blowing, and maybe some pandemic germs in the game.
It was about 40F degrees at the first pitch. It didn't seem to ever warm up, especially in our seats in the shade. The seats in the sun seemed to draw more people, which was a little funny to watch as the shade drifted across the infield seats.
We made it to our seats for the opening stuff, catching the end of some field practice, and eating some game food, after wandering through the club a little bit. We wandered all the way around the stadium looking for the booth to finish some registration thing having to do with our tickets and free food. We did have our masks on for the stroll around. There was a cool fly-over by a B-52 bomber at the end of the National Anthem. We watched all of the scoring, which ended up being 2-1 for the Mariners. Then we set out before the 7th inning stretch, because we had to get the kids.
Usually we can make a whole day game, so they're some of our favorites to go to, but they also usually start at noon. Today started at 3PM, and with the sometimes congestion in the parking ramp and out of downtown, we decided to not risk it and took of a little before 5PM. We got the kids in the later side of the usual time, and carried on. They know we went to the game, and also wanted to go, but get that school is not the same as work, and they had to do theirs. We sated them with some drive-through dinner, as we were still not hungry after some later lunch at the ball game.
Everyone's healthy.
