Day 755 - Weekend Day Alone
I didn't get much done, even though the kids had events out of the house, so the wife left me here to my own devices.
It turned out to be a beautiful day, weather-wise, and super quiet at home without anyone here. I did a little bit of laundry and other inside chores. I trekked to the garage a time or two, thinking of maybe moving stuff around to do other stuff, but ended up not doing that either time.
I thought to maybe pull the patio furniture out, since most of the bad winter weather has given way to the lingering spring cold weather. It's nice enough today that if it was like this during the week, a fella could take some Zoom calls on the patio on the nicer days. Looking into the garage to where the chairs have been stowed was a little defeating. All the stuff that really doesn't belong there (like packaging not yet broken down for recycling, or other stuff that needs to be put away on the other side of where the chairs are sitting) made me shrug it off. I moved a couple things around, and then decided to do it later.
I thought to maybe pull the motorcycle out, and at least give it a good start and time to charge idling in the driveway. It's buried under some boxes destined for recycling, and boxed in by some debris and stuff that belongs elsewhere. I did put on my new license plate tabs, so it's legal to take a spin. I also looked into the saddle bags at the foot plates I need to take in to have installed (they're not as bolt-on as I thought, requiring interaction with the brake or shifter that I'm not prepared to do). I moved a couple of things around, and then decided to do it later.
I stood for probably longer than it would have taken to move the trailer staring at the trailer. It normally sits outside, but we put it inside for the winter to leave room to pile abundant snow where it normally sits. In the past I've been able to make room for it in the garage and still have room for at least one of the vehicles, but with the way we've abused our garage space, there wasn't time or energy when the cold weather hit in the fall, so it's sitting where the Jeep should be parked. It's also buried under stuff that belongs elsewhere or should be recycled. To be fair, some of that stuff is the same stuff as blocked my other ideas of attempting. I moved a couple of things around, and then decided to do it later.
I did manage to work in a nap, though. I have been feeling a bit sinus-impacted lately. It happens in the spring, and is one of the things I bemoan a lot. Seasonal allergies used to just afflict me at the end of harvest season. That started stretching out to more of the fall, and eventually into the spring, too. Now there are a few good weeks in the middle of winter, far enough from fall and spring, or in the middle of summer, when things are far enough from spring and fall. I really should live somewhere else, but that's a different frequent discussion.
The family came back, we had some dinner, and now it's bedtime for little little. Time to start that battle.
Everyone's healthy.
