Day 783 - Mother's Day
I work for a retailer. I've had kids for 75% of my life. I see advertisements. I still forget it's here.
I broke the day with a hasty run to the shop for some donuts, flowers, and cards. I had in mind finding something clever, but I'm running out of ideas. I usually do a mom-themed coffee cup or shirt or bauble, but that only works so many times. Hopefully a humorous round of cards and some "happy Mother's Day" cheer will do.
I have a loose plan of maybe taking mom for breakfast out, which we did for the first time in sooooo long last weekend. She's sleeping in, so we might be later than the crowds allow. Coffee and donuts and a mellow morning might be all we do.
We have a baseball game planned for later, around lunchtime. It's raining this morning, and a little cool. The temperature isn't supposed to get too much warmer, but the rain is supposed to stop. It's usually a good day at the ball field, no matter what. It'll be the first this season with the kids, which is probably the first since the pandemic, so in like three summers!
Hopefully it's a mellow day.
Everyone's healthy.
