Day 988 - The Grinch
We went to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at the Children's Theater.
The plan had been to go last weekend, but we rescheduled to this weekend. The kids were keen and excited, and even the adults were looking forward to the treat.
We went for a late brunch just before, so there wouldn't be hangry people in the afternoon matinee. We got snacks and drinks on arrival, too.
Everyone should know the story, so I won't recap it here.
It was well done on the stage. Plenty of humor and lively antics from all the Whos in Whoville. A brief intermission in the middle let us stretch our legs, and a bit of a scavenger hunt let us poke about the place looking for clues for some other things to do, which we started before the play and finished during intermission. There was a bit of a snag with clue number three, as the tree where it belonged had a "see the ushers" sign, but none of the ushers knew about it. After the show, they let us turn in our finished list, forgiving the missing number three, and gave the kiddo his choice of Grinch stickers, which he plans to attach to his water bottle.
Except for a slip on the ice as we returned to our car, the whole event was pretty keen, with fun costumes, lively characters, story we relate to...songs, dance, revelry, and more!
Everyone's healthy.
