Day 1024 - Snow Day
The kids are home from school because it snowed. It snowed a lot.
Peeking at the weather stats for yesterday and today seems pretty unimpressive. Precipitation reported less than an inch. Looking outside, though, a ton of snow has fallen, with a mountain of snow on the boulevard from the plows.
Last night, during a brief break in the snowfall, I took the snowblower to the drive way to get rid of the boot-deep snow before the missus parked her car there. A kind neighbor took his bigger snowblower across the front sidewalk for the whole block, leaving me to shovel just the stairs. Thanks, neighbor!
This morning we woke to another boot-deep snow piled on where we'd previously cleared. The Ring camera shows the wife's Jeep buried in snow--so much it's hard to tell it's red!
The kids were excited to learn that school has been cancelled. Snow day! The snow hasn't stopped falling, although it comes in fits and starts. The plows have already been past in the front of the house, so I suspect the streets are clear enough to get around, but that might not be everywhere. We do get a little benefit in the plowing by being just a couple blocks from city hall.
I've got work to get to, so I'll be in the meetings with the crew. Hopefully the kids, well-practiced from vacation, can get on at home instead of at school. Lunch will probably be the kicker. And then boredom will set in. Maybe they'll play Roblox or something together with their remote friends. Or maybe I can get them to go drag shovels across the sidewalks a little. Probably not.
Everyone's healthy.
