Medicare Scam Calls Every Day
There have been four or five in the last hour.
Many, many times a day, some robot calls me with the same dumb script.
Me: Hello?
Silence until you say anything else. It seems to miss any introductory salutation. Simply waiting doesn't seem to trigger it or cause it to disconnect.
Me: Hello?
Robot: Hello? With much call-center noise in the background, cutting in and out right around the even-tempo speech.
Me: Hello.
Robot: Hi, my name is (something). We recently mailed you information about the new Medicare plans and discount opportunities. Have you received it.
Me: I don't qualify for or have Medicare.
Robot: It seems you don't qualify for our program. Thank you for your time.
I generally don't answer calls from unknown numbers, and I do know how easy it can be to fake numbers, especially with WiFi calls. But with kids and aging parents, you can't ignore them all.
Every stinking day. Weekends, too!
