Home Early
Yup. There's snow about.
The snow was piled on the Jeep deeper than my hands are wide. The unfortunate thing is that any snow removal tool would be inside the vehicle, and I chose to not wear gloves (which is normal). I took a few quick brushes across the hood and windshield, plopping the wet snow off in a couple sweeps.
Inside I noticed that the window was nearly covered already; the lack of any kind of heat on the window was allowing the snow to stick directly upon impact. A few minutes later this was not the case, and the window was warm enough to melt the snow. I kicked on the part-time 4WD (magic traction!) and I started home (really before the window was so warm).
The trip wasn't so bad. Most people were moving a little slower, but the plows had already been out, and the sun was doing what it could to keep the concrete warm enough. The drive only took a few minutes longer than it does in good traffic.
During the drive, though, the snow had again piled on the hood. Must be really sticky stuff. I backed into the garage and swept the snow off and out the door. The snow had piled to over shoe-height deep (and my shoes are pretty big), and showed no signs of letting up. I took a quick pass with a shovel at the back sidewalk for the dogs, and before I was done, it was already dusted with more snow.
I just went inside to hide.
