Mirror Keyboard
Giving a wing at the one-handed keyboard remapping for LINUX machines.
The caps-lock is used to flip the keys on the left..
That last was typed, with some difficulty (due mostly to newness) using the method.
The caps-lock is used to flip the keys on the left to mirror the keys on the right, so that the left hand can kind of hit the same keys with the same finger that the right hand would when properly touch typing. So the q key becomes p when caps-lock is held down. A little trouble comes in because you need to sacrifice a finger to hold the caps-lock down. A little other trouble comes because the keymap "breaks" my normal key map, specifically unmapping the arrow keys, and, well, eating the caps-lock key.
If I can figure out the mapping to keep my arrow keys functional, and possibly change the mapping from caps-lock to the otherwise unused "windows key," then I might be able to get a little more time in working with it.
Having learned to touch-type some twenty-five years ago, and doing it nearly every day since, I can do this in the dark, and even without letters printed on the keys (I've used some really old keyboards). However, if the chording works, it might be something I could find useful from time to time.
