As the song says, it's "root, root, root for the home team!"

Of course, my home team is the Minnesota Twins, so I take a little good-humored offense at the idea that the other teams could dethrone the 6-of-9 recent year division champs!

The results of a poll of sports reporters has come up with the prediction of Sox, Twins, Tigers, Royals, and Indians for our division. I like Ozzie and his boys, and Leyland, too, for that matter, but I think Gardy and crew are tired of playing second-seed to the Darn Yankees, and the division challengers won't be let in the way!

In all honesty, I've not paid enough attention to the other guys (and, with my level of fandom, I probably won't until the season starts to play out, and even then, it'll be weak attention compared to some). It could well be that they've got the chutzpah to trump the Twins, but I've gotta root for my home team.

Baseball starts Friday. I'm keeping this for posterity. With luck, my home-team rooting powers will add to the Twins mojo around here, and push them past to the big game.
