UPS Battery Seems Recovered
After ordering a new battery for the UPS that didn't seem to want to recover, it seems it recovered.
There's a possibility that the battery had been jostled from its connections during the move, and subsequent jostling reconnected it. Perhaps it just sat and charged long enough to finally recharge the battery.
The new battery has already shipped, so on Saturday I'll have a spare, I guess. I suppose there's still a chance one of the UPSs will need a battery, and now I'll have one.
Maybe I can find a UPS in need of a battery, and then I'll have four. Right now one of the 3 UPSs is providing power for 2 servers. The biggest draw is on any of them 180W, for the UPS with two powered servers. The one with one server and the monitor is drawing about 130W, and the other about 80W. Each has a separate network device attached.
I have been considering removing the network switch. The WiFi router has 8 ports, with just 2 in use; currently one for an AP connected by Ethernet, and the other for the switch. The switch has 6 devices; one each for the 4 servers' LAN ports, and one each for the 2 big servers' admin ports. There are enough ports on the WiFi router to directly connect the servers. I'll need some longer cables, though, or maybe to move the router off the top of the rack, as the 3-foot cables I'm using now for most of the connections aren't long enough to reach on top.
Always considering changes.
