I'll Ride Until it Snows!
I'm starting to think the powers-that-be are trying to get me to stop riding...
Yesterday there was the threat of rain, but I rode anyway. I left work later than I wanted (got into a groove), and barely made it home before the storm hit. Blocks from my house I thought I was being pelted by hail, but it was just flying sticks and big, heavy raindrops. Made it into the garage with little damage.
Today, promises of clearer and warmer, but no mention of the gusty winds. It was barely 60 when I left home, and because the temperature might hit the high 70s, I went with a light-weight jacket. The bigger problem of the light-weight jacket over thermal protection is its desire to act like a parachute in high winds. Add the 30-40MPH the route I take allows me to travel to the 30MPH gusts I swear were hitting me right in the sleeves and a fun little tug of war erupts, with me as the rope.
I'm not giving up, though. I think I'll just have to choose my outerwear more carefully.
