Let It Snow
We're experiencing a little weather today.
The prediction is for more-or-less constant snow for the next three days. There were flakes falling at bedtime last night, and snow deeper than my shoes as I shoveled the sidewalk this morning. Traffic was bad enough that my drive from "under" the second "n" in "Minneapolis" to just "beyond" the "n" in "Eagan" hit speeds of up to forth miles an hour; that, of course, was in the last mile of travel. Still, the normally 30-45 minute trek only took an hour and a few; not too much additional. I probably saved myself a lot by taking the city streets.
I astutely avoided the "freeway" as long as possible, taking for some time a rather pleasant drive along one of the many parkways through town. No cars in my way, already plowed and sanded, and all of the weather-provided decorations on the landscape.
As I pulled into the 100-acre parking lot, I happened upon a nice side-effect of the heavy snow. People had been parking from the sidewalk toward the entry into the parking lot. By the time the last car got near the entry, the snow had drifted over the actual last spot. I gently pulled in, trying to assure the curb was not in my way, and found myself a rather close parking lot. Considering the extra time it took me to get here, I should have ended up in the far side of the fourth parking lot, not the near side of the second!
