Someone pointed out that officially opening day was yesterday, the 31st of March. I guess that's right if you mean for everyone; I'm only really concerned about Twins baseball... If you consider that a couple of teams in the AL Central played yesterday, then, yeah I guess it counted.

And those teams that played, the Royals and Tigers...lost. Twins tied for first with the other teams that didn't play. Today, the Withe Sox beat the Indians, so the Twins are alone in second, a half-game back, the others tied a full game back. It's theirs to lose; they can win and tie the Sox for first, or lose and tie the others for second.
