Comcast Internet Outage Caused By Comcast Residential Service
About six months ago we cancelled our cable television service. Other posts have been written about that. All is well in our video entertainment, except a few shows we can't see, and sports. It seems, though, that after six months, the residential service people will come out and physically disconnect the cable, so you don't get anything for free.
They didn't notice that I have business-class, and not residential, Internet service, though. So when they pulled my plug, the Internet went away (more accurately, my network was no longer part of the Internet).
The cable guy that came out today put a fob on it noting the commercial service to the house, so that similar misunderstandings might be avoided in the future.
Kudos to the cable guy for quickly recognizing and fixing that problem. A small boo to the guy ("guy" being short for "person," and not related to gender) who disconnected it who disconnected me without checking, and larger boo to the system that didn't recognize the different services to the same address.
I guess if I'm booing, even bigger boo to the company for not allowing me to bundle or otherwise get some kind of discount for having commercial (more expensive) Internet service and residential television service, and for not allowing me to bundle commercial television service (just $10 more for that...) simply because my office is in a house...
