I was cold all night, and woke up to a house reporting only 50F° on the thermostat!

More than a handful of times I thought about getting up and unfurling the arctic sleeping bag on top of my bedding. I caved that it was too cold, but now in the morning I'm kicking myself for being so wimpy.

The weather app is reporting a temperature of -4°F already, on its way to a high near 20°F later today. There's also a forecast of a couple inches of snow coming after lunch.

I kicked on the fireplace and that has helped. I'm making some cacao and oatmeal, because that's all I brought. I think I'll wait for it to warm up a little, and in a couple hours start digging at that berm. I'm not above giving up on that and driving off after cleaning up, but I should try while I'm here. My primary mission of clearing the deck is done, and I'm not really worried about a couple more inches. After breakfast I'll toss the bedding in the laundry, which takes a few hours, and work on the driveway while that washes.
