First Twins Game 2026
I've watched a bunch, but today was the first one we were able to see in person.
We were gone for the opener, which we've made most of the last few years. It isn't critical to go to the first game, but it has been available to us since we got our tickets when the stadium opened in 2010. Usually by the time baseball starts, it's great to get back outside.
We did drop our full season to a half-season package. We've still got a couple seat partners, so with the games they take, we get about 20 pairs of seats. The Twins are pretty good about letting us swap around, so we can take pairs from one game and shuffle around to get four tickets to allow us to bring the kids, too. That makes 10 to 15 games we'll make in some combination, which seems like plenty lately.
This year was a cold game. I don't think the temperature ever hit 50°F, and our seats are in the shade, so it felt more like 40°F. Around the 6th inning we made our way inside to warm up, and never went back outside.
Because of the weather, and because of the way the team is playing, there weren't many people in attendance. There were only two or three other people (not groups) in our section, and the section next to us wasn't terribly busier. Maybe a couple thousand people across the whole stadium, more people in sections with the sun, but still a few in the shady parts.
The game was fun. Not a lot of hits for much of the game. The Twins got a run, then the Tigers got one. Relievers came in, and the Twins got a couple more in the 8th inning. They held off a Tigers comeback for the win!
I'm glad baseball is back. Looking forward to warmer days ahead.
