One Hour Photo (2002)
Bought the DVD and watched it on Monday. It was in the impulse end cap at Target for not much more than a movie ticket. I dig Robin Williams and thought the thriller aspects might be interesting.
I liked it. Well shot and acted. I particularly liked the use of scenes to set the mood and give us a feeling for Sy's (Robin Williams) character. Mr Williams did an outstanding job of adjusting his character to fit in the environment.
Outstanding performances by every one, even Gary Cole, who I was afraid might have too much Office Space taint to his performance, but was happily surprised to see him as a realistic store manager.
From the character introduction, through the dramatic confrontation, into the revealing conclusion, I was pleased to find that I didn't find myself predicting, anticipating, or trying to see through anything. While I didn't relate to the stalker in Williams' character, I did identify and relate to the stranger and outsider performance he gave.
No spoiler necessary.
