Sidewalk repaired
We remodeled our house a year ago. During this some excavation occurred in both the front and back, and our sidewalks no longer made it all the way to the house. We planned to correct this when we finished landscaping.
Yes, it has been an entire year. An entire year this past spring. It's amazing how easy it is to let something slide.
Yesterday, it happened that our neighbor across the street was replacing his steps and sidewalk. It happened to be the case that I had park my truck in the way (they were concerned that concrete debris from the demolition might hit my truck), so Jim came over to ask me to move it. No problem.
As long as we were talking, I suggested to the guy doing Jim's work that he could get two houses done in one trip, if he'd be interested. He, of course, was. It's about a six foot stretch from the last unbroken bit to the wooden steps.
I didn't tell Claire, because I wanted to surprise her. Of course, she's out late tonight doing wedding stuff (she's in one, not we're having one), so I'll have to get her feedback tomorrow.
