A Saturday spent falling trees.

OK, so it's more like bush trimming and sapling killing. We took to the overgrown brush on the south side of our house and garage today, cutting back a huge dogwood, some sprawling baby's breath, our overreaching lilacs, clearing way for plans of keeping the yard neater next year.

I also took a saw to the trees that have been trying to grow between the garage and fence. Well, they were growing, and quite well. There's only a couple of feet between the structures, though, and the tallest of the trees was entangling my power, telephone, and cable lines. We can't have nature getting in the way of my technology.

Six yard-waste bags of tree and bush chopping later, we felt like quite the urban lumberjacks...
