I'm not even sure if it's a real rumor, but Jon Stewart mentioned it on the Daily Show last night.

Evidently the rumor goes something like Vice President Dick Cheney would resign and President Bush would nominate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to take his place. One idea suggesting that she'd then be poised to take charge in the '08 election.

The discussion suggested that the White House got the idea from the ABC show Commander in Chief.

It's funny. Scary, but funny.
