Sometimes I’m an Idiot
I accidentally (really, sometimes my iPad and I disagree between tap and drag...really sucks in games) clicked on some click-bait insurance comparison thing. I bought into the lie of simple checks. I knew better than to add my home and e-mail address, and phone number.
But I did.
Now I’ve been spammed with requests for more information, and have received at least a half-dozen “probably spam” calls on my phone (that I never answer). I know it’s all well-meaning (I’m sure) insurance salespeople trying to (legit) get me better rates.
I don’t need it, though.
Thoroughly happy with our insurance provider and their rates. Their responsiveness when we’ve need them has been fantastic. We already bundle multiple vehicles, motorcycle, and home with them, so there’s probably not much room for those discounts. Plus, they’ve volunteered a 20% rebate or refund because of the reduced driving everyone is doing (and we’re certainly doing).
Coincidentally, thanks to another accidental click (trying to scroll, not click) on an e-mail, I had to take a phishing identification training for work. I’m all about security, and have been for a while, but my iPad is making me look careless, or driving me into carelessness.
I’m sorry, well-meaning insurance salespeople. I’m good with the insurance I have.
