Back from the reunion.
We didn't stay to the end, so who knows how the festivities exploded. It was a fair time, and I'm glad I went. I have that recollection of believing I knew, or at least recognized, everyone in our school while I was there. Over the years, nearly all of them have been forgotten. Even now I'm not remembering everyone I ran into just a short while ago.
A pause for some history.
Since high school I really have only kept in contact with very few fellow Falcons.
Paul Newman and I were practically inseparable for the last bit of school and the years that followed. Paul and I all but tortured our good friend Todd Nelson our senior years (he was a junior then), in a good way. Todd and I worked together for a while after school. Together the three of us would go get in all manner of harmless trouble, Paul and I in more than with Todd.
I dated the same girl, Corrine Olson, for the rest of the year after high school, but we changed direction and that just kind of dwindled away. For a while right before I enlisted, Jon Martignacco and I were roommates in this two-bedroom apartment over a carpet store. Together, we continued to see a few of the regular guys, Jeff Kivi and Mike Bonello, for a while. Although Stuart Roe was a key member of our group, right at the end of school, or was it shortly after, he severed ties after one playful ribbing too many.
That was mostly it. I'd grown away from high school and all of its glamour, and almost as fast people faded from memory. I had kids, enlisted in the Air Force, got married, did some college, and all in that order. Life took a swing away from those days very, very fast.
I ran into this while playing on my folks’ computer. Makes me nostalgic. I’m on Facebook if you care to see what I’ve been up to.
Merry Xmas!
