Google Plus Additions
Mostly to see if I could cross the boundary between this blog software and Google+, I added a couple of tags to my blog software configuration.
The first attaches a "share this" button to the bottom of individual posts (need to look at the post, not the preview stream). This should allow Google+ users to quicky link to the article and post it in their stream. I'm not sure why anyone would want to quote my blatherings, but it works pretty easily.
The second attaches a "follow" button to the right side menu. Again, I'm not sure why anyone follows my drivel, but if a Google+ user hits this link, they'll follow my Google+ "Page," not my actual Google+ profile.
The linking to the Google+ Page instead of the profile is an attempt to play with some other Google+ stuff. In particular, I'm trying to get a validated page. Again, really just to see what it takes and does and so on.
I'm not sure what I personally will benefit from having a page separate from my profile. I guess it could help as I can keep my page professional and tidy and post all of my questionable material on my profile. I'll have to start generating some questionable material, of course.
It seems a little vain, but it's ninety percent research. Social networking is here to stay, my clients and peers (and their clients) use the tools, and I need to know how and to what extend things are possible.
