Lions Win Division Title
The Lions were clearly more prepared for the game, and took the division title and NFC #1 seat away from the Vikings. They earned it, but it's disappointing as a Vikings fan.
The Vikings defense came on strong, pressing the offensive line and blitzing a lot. The Lions were prepared for this, and would counter with a quick lob over the blitzers, getting repeated short and long gains. The Vikings never adjusted.
On the other side, the Lions defense also brought a lot of pressure against the Vikings offensive line, and they were successful a lot with the same cross-center blitz. Again, the Vikings never adjusted.
The rest of the wildcard playoff schedule was set before the game began. The losers of this game, the Vikings, take on the lowest seeded division champion, the LA Rams, as the highest seated wild card team on Monday Night Football next week.
Hopefully they have time to study how the Rams play, and create some adjustment plays.
